I 'm the that goes on a trip to the island of navigation in the British Virgin month and wants to be sure to take along some medicine just in case there are rough seas. Anyone who has recommendations for more than a Dramamine?

Dramamine is the most popular option but it makes you drowsy.
Bonine is my favorite choice (i used it on my cruise) it works just like dramamine without the drowsiness (both are over the counter)
there is a patch you can put behind your ear (i saw poeple wearing it on the cruise) it releases medicine into your body (i dont know what its called)
and finaly (in my opinion a BS method) there are bracelets you can put on your wrists that have pressure points on your veins and are supposed to make you not feel seasick (tried it.. didn’t do much, but im not one for acupuncture)

Bonine (meclizine) and Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) are the most popular medicine, but here’s all the brands:
Dimenhydrinate includes Gravol, Dramamine, and Vertirosan. Besides dimenhydrinate, there’s meclizine. The brands are Bonine, Antivert, and Postafen.
Besides these 2, there’s one called diphenhydramine. It has these brand names:
O Benadryl
O Dimedrol
O Unisom
O Nytol
And unpopular cyclizine:
Diconal and Marezine:
Besides these, here’s some other brands:
Bonamine and Sturgeron.

I always say I get seasick in the bathtub, but we love to travel, so I’ve never let it stop me! I’ve tried a number of things depending on how we’re traveling and what we’re doing. Here’s our page on motion sickness…. you can see some of the options.

Happy travels… even if you don’t travel the world… just remember that life is a journey… embrace and enjoy it!
