What are some other good areas in medicine?

Other than sugery… I want to become a doctor but am beginning to realise i dont have the patience for it. So what other areas in medicine can i go into that do not require so much time from social life, but yet is still successful?

    Sorry, but just getting into a med school requires a great deal of time, preparation, and hard work, with even more after entering med school; there is really no way around it. Most doctors also work significantly more than 40 hours a week. Some specialties with a lesser (~40hr/wk) average work load are opthalmology and dermatology, but these are still very difficult to prepare for.

    U can become a pharmacist.

    You could become a PA (Physicians Assistant), that way you dont have to get a medical degree. You will make about 90 grand a year as a starting wage and if you want to go further later, its only a couple more years of school.

    *cough* you said you did not want to go into medicine yet you asked what fields of MEDICINE are good , presume you hope healthcare if not become a psychiatrists to treat yourself , ehh

    *Psychologist
    *physcians assistant
    *nurse practitioner
    *Optometrist
    *dentist
    *nurse
    *pharmacists
    *biophysics imaging research
    *Ph.D in some bio-science and teach at a med-school while doing research
    *EMT-P
    *podiatrist
    *O.T.

    and if you do mean you want to become a physician some good areas are
    Emergency medicine - no call
    Dermatology -completive but 500k/yr
    plastic surgeon -hard to ge into but you can start your own practice
    pathology-no call , ok salary

    thats just for starters
