Diet and exercise are the only way to control it without medicine.

Low fat diet. Eat whole grain like oatmeal. Exercise.

Keep exercising (like swimming, aerobics, etc)! Unfortunately, cholesterol is partly determined by genetics and changing your diet will probably not help much. Hopefully exercising will help you:) Good luck!

Garlic capsules help. Medicines do have some side effects but it may be a good idea to take it in order to get your chol down and then just maintain a good healthy diet after not taking it anymore.

Stay away from Eggs, cheese, and exercise and if your family histroy has it you may have to watch other things too.

The Atkins Diet or the Paleo Diet will take it down in a hurry!

I do not know if you consider a supplement as medicine. If not then you could try Cholest Off from nature made, it works by taking bile from the gut, much in the same was as eating soluble fiber. And along with that or alone, eat 7 grams of soluble fiber daily like in oat cereals, or fiber drinks.
